A message from Demi Barbito.
I have been training individuals and professionals for over a decade now. One thing that has become obvious is that everyone simply wants to know what their best options in a violent situation are. It doesn't matter if were talking unarmed, firearms, verbal de-escalation etc. There is only a limited amount of high probability material that exists and then there is a larger bulk of supportive material and progressive training methods. I've put together a program that covers the high probability material that I feel is most useful and easily absorbed by persons of any skill level. The certification allows you to teach the material to others which in turn will help you to internalize the material and practice it. It's not enough learning or training to open a school. But if you already own a school that focuses on traditional martial arts or sport only it's enough to give you a chunk of new material and training methods. If you're just a private citizen who wants to learn and then pass on what you've been taught to friends, family, acquaintances etc. this would be perfect for you as well. If you charge them, to recoup your initial investment and buy gear, all the better. The goal is to cycle learning, practicing, sharing and developing.
This is the material that I would have wanted to be taught when I first got into martial arts 22 years ago!
Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 Instructorships are far more comprehensive. Anything above a Level 1 would be for a school owner or a serious enthusiast. The one day self defense program would put you light years ahead of the average traditional martial artist and even the sport fighter who never considers the reality of pathological violence against a weaker, unarmed and unsuspecting victim.
The material covered will include:
Threat Recognition - Verbal De-escalation - Verbal Redirection
Unarmed Counter Assault Tactics (Long, medium and close range)
Psychological Ammunition
Basic Weapons Training
Ethical and legal implications of using force in self defense.
No firearms or ground fighting will be covered in the one day self defense program. It's not possible to provide a comprehensive understanding of either in one day. A solid base of stand up and weapons material can be taught in an ethical manner however. Instructor certificates are issued same day.
Cost: $400.00 per person
